Conditions
for the Au-Pair
Age
Generally 18 - 24. (for au-pairs from the old EEC countries
until the age of 30)
Health
A doctor´s exam is required to certify health and fitness
of the Au-Pair. Any illness must be noted.
Some
more Conditions
The Au-Pair has to be 18 - 24 years of age when applying for
a visa or starting work as an Au-Pair.
The Au-Pair
has to provide documents as to successful completion of a
course of Study. (school attendance)
Motherhood
or Fatherhood
The candidate cannot be a parent of a son or daughter.
Criminal
Check
An official criminal check must be completed by all candidates
and submitted to us.
Social
Etiquette
One must observe and obey all laws and customs; i.e. alcohol
consumption, tobacco consumption and laws pertaining to public
establishments.
Motivation
One has to be prepared and ready to deal with special situations
in the household that may occur. Such situations may include
but are not limited to elderly family members, handicapped
and other medical situations.
Knowledge
of the Language
You must have basic knowledge of the German language or of
the language of your future host country.
Compensation
It is a matter of course that your service as an Au-Pair is
not free of charge. In Germany you will earn at the moment
a minimum of 260,- € compensation each month. The Host
Family will provide household expenses and a room. Other financial
arrangements between the Au-Pair and the Host Family will
be made possible.
